I DID IT!

The great thing about having someone to visit is that you get an excuse to do lots of touristy things that you otherwise wouldn't bother doing or couldn't justify spending the money on. For example, Capilano Bridge. The people I know who have gone have all said what a waste of money it is and what a tourist trap it is. But damn it, I want to go.

So I did. And I took Hannah, Simon's friend Chris and my friend Chris along too.

Chris and Chris.

Essentially Capilano Bridge is a bridge... and that's pretty much it. Its a sort of rope bridge that crosses a valley (a 'V' shaped valley for all you geographers out there). You have to pay to get into the park its in and you get to have a wander around. Its all very pretty but nothing amazing.

Then again maybe I 've just become used to the beauty of this country. If I had gone when I first arrived maybe I would of just broken down and cried at the sheer majesty of it all.

Probably not.

The Bridge itself.

God.

After about an hour we had seen all pretty much everything there was. Seeing as we were already in North Van and it was only a short bus ride away we decided to go to Grouse Mountain. Course Chris actually works there... and it was his first day off in about 2 weeks... but he was 'happy' to go to his work place on his day off. That's what he told us and I decided to believe him. This had the added bonus of having Chris' expert knowledge about the mountain on tap. I now know that bears don't poo when they hibernate as they grown a kind of plug. Thanks Chris!

View from the Mountain. Chris reckoned it was one of the clearest days he had seen which was nice for us.

Snowball... FIGHT!

The Chrissssss and Hannah

We spent the afternoon mucking about in the snow, having a big nacho lunch and a couple of beers. Brilliant!

The evening was Hannah's last night so she very kindly took Andy and me out for a steak meal. We went to a good bar we know on Davie which, while looking expensive and trendy, is within the price range of your average BUNACer.

We went for the pink drinks...

Later on we were joined by others so we had to put the pink drinks away. Left to right - Chris, Hannah, Gav, Liz, Si, Jade, Paul and Keenie.
