Swimming made fun!

Remember when I told you I was going to keep fit (see here)? Well I'm still trying. Kind of. I went swimming in Kits Pool this week. Kitsilano Pool is the largest pool in Canada, one length is the equivalent of 5 official ones (so Simon has told me, and he swam for his county so I believe him). Its also a open air swimming pool with water from the sea partially purified and heated. I do enjoy swimming but I often get bored after 20 normal lengths or so. In Kits Pool though... Well I'm swimming in water from the Pacific, sun above me, the mountains in the distance and the beautiful people of Kits surrounding me.

Not only that but with one length being so long you don't get as many chances to stop and think 'Hmmm, have I had enough'. I did 6 lengths of the pool which translates into 30 actual lengths, and I didn't even feel all that tired. Its only a 5 minute walk from where I live as well!

I'm going to go at least once a week and hopefully make it twice. I. WILL. BE. FIT.

Maybe.

Be a soldier. Run your ass off. I exercise by leaving things upstairs when I go out so I have to go in and get them from all that way. Works a treat.

It should be your aim to make the British men's Swim Team for the 2012 Olympics.

A London boy in his home town winning gold for his country. And you'll do it all in your early 30's. A knighthood would surely follow and then an open top bus parade through the city.

All the hard work starts now Ian so you better get going.
