Dracula has risen from the grave
My ipod loves Straw. Not the useful farm and country fayre commodity, but obscure late 90s British popular beat combo Straw. Whenever I put my ipod on random it invariably plays a Straw track within in the first 30 odd songs. There are around 1800 songs on my ipod and only about 14 of them are Straw tracks. The stats are against Straw so I can only conclude that my ipod has fallen in love with Straw and plays them to me as much as possible so that I too will love Straw.
Don't get me wrong, I quite like Straw. Well most of the album 'Shoplifting' which is the only one I own. I especially like 'Dracula Has Risen From the Grave'. But I don't like them enough to hear them roughly every other day. I don't think even the members of Straw would enjoy that.
I wonder what has happened to Straw? Are they still together? Do they still dream of cracking the American market as they allude to in 'Moving to California', track 4 of 'Shoplifting'. Maybe I should find out. Maybe that's why my ipod keeps playing me them, trying to tell me that my destiny is somehow tied up with that of Straw. I would be slightly surprised if this turns out to be the case, but you can never guess what fate has in store for you.
If you're reading this, members of Straw, be happy to know that there's at least one ipod that loves you very much.

I'm getting very disillusioned with iPods - everyone I know who has one has had something go wrong with it. In fact, Flick's has had to be replaced twice...
I'm sticking with mix tapes.
Been looking for a lead on where Straw are now... nada.
Found this though: http://www.xfm.co.uk/Article.asp?id=161627
So that's what happened to Sleeper...
