It's usually easier to fall off a table than climb on

We've had a run of birthdays here and by the time it was mine even I felt this whole 'celebrate the anniversary of your birth' thing was becoming a bit old hat. Gawd knows what everyone else was thinking. After thinking about looking for a club or something I decided to keep celebrations simple, so we went to the Kings Head, our honorary local pub. Besides, a pub is much more me than a club isn't it (despite my crazy dance moves)? There is actually a club/bar type place more or less next door to the Kings Head anyway so if the night went that way we'd have the option.

The night didn't go that way.

We didn't want to leave the Kings Head! In fact I would probably goes as far as saying it was the best night I've ever had at the Kings Head, beating even the legendary night out with Andy's Dad Richard and Andy himself. There was a really good atmosphere in there, it was busy and they had a band playing classic pub covers. Things were helped along by...

I had even reserved a table so everyone had a seat (you can tell I'm now 26 can't you...) which meant we could enjoy the busyness rather than be annoyed by it. And boy did it get busy, at the end of the night the floor was bouncing up and down by an inch or two by the sheer number of people dancing/jumping to the music.

I think I managed to have a conversation with everyone but must admit things got a bit hazy at the end. My only regret of the night was that I missed Andy climbing on a table and then falling off. The only consolation is that it can't of been nearly as funny in real life as I have imagined it.

Keenie!

Simon will come to regret this shot later.

Alan's eyes...

Ahhhhh, me and my girls.

Gav with the two loves of his life.

Erm, Jade.

World's worst boy band.

Outside Pope and Bull Towers, suddenly Andy realises that Simon just might be more drunk than him.

'I remember when this was nowt but fields'...

So that's what being 26 is going to be like huh? Not that different to last 8 years to be honest. Now is that a good thing or a depressing thing? Answers on a postcard please.

I think you'll find there has been many worse boybands than us.

Since we shifted the dead wood (Keenie - couldn't sing, Simon - couldn't dance) we can only go from strength to strength.

B.U.N.A.C will rule the charts for a long time to come.

So I was trying to think what boy band B.U.N.A.C might stand for and I had some of my lunch break left – here’s what I came up with;

B.U.N.A.C

Brits Unleashed on North American Canadians (kind of obvious)

Because Underneath No-one Appreciates Canadians (might be true…)

Because Understanding Nerds Aint Cool (my personal favourite)

I am sure there is more, if only I had a whole lunch hour….
